Set amid 8 acres of live oak grove in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, Sophia's Grove is located in Spring Branch, Texas, at the foot of the Twin Sisters Hills and near the gorgeous Orthodox Greek Monastery of Holy Archangels. We are dedicated both to the health of the horse and to helping women rediscover their sense of balance and alignment within the sanctity of Nature. You can take classes here, meditate, do yoga, interact with our therapy horses, walk though our 300 oak trees on our Grove Trail, or just sit for a while and simply Be.
A place of healing & restoration, Sophia's Grove is a priory of the Lindisfarne Community; we are also home to the Common Space Interfaith Initiative and the Horses for PeaceSM
interfaith equine therapy program. Sophia is Divine Wisdom, the feminine aspect of the Holy Spirit, revered across the Abrahamic faith traditions as co-Creatrix with God in the "Song of Solomon." This barn sanctuary provides a haven of calm for women who have become dissociated from nature and the divine feminine by the stress of a crazy world. Our horses are all former rescues, often from difficult situations, all very gentle, all very wise. They are are generous with their time and love just to hang with you.
We are a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization: your tax-deductible donation will help us maintain our Sanctuary, Grove, and horses, as well as to continue our individualized equine therapy programs for women. Sophia's Grove is also a TreeSisters
